Well if you had it at 644, the owner still has write permissions.
So say your username is "bob". If you uploaded THT (originally) as your "bob" user. And the file was at 644 only "bob" would have permissions to write to it. So if you upgrade THT with the "bob" user it would overwrite the conf file because your user has the power to do so. Kevin Mark - TheHostingTool Lead Developer |

I had it at 644, but yeah, the upgrade doc didn't said a thing about it ._.
